Christmas Gift Baskets Aren’t Just Presents – Treat Yourself to One
When you buy a gift basket for someone, you’re going to want to get one for yourself, too. The reason is simple. They’re great and come in a wide variety to suit many different tastes. When you find one for someone else, take a look at them with yourself in mind, too.
I don’t know about you, but I really like getting a Christmas Gift Basket. They come in all shapes and sizes, and with all sorts of different stuff inside. Usually, that stuff tastes really good. I enjoy giving them, getting them, and using them. Typically, that means I eat them, and enjoy every moment of it.
What you are going to get with 1-800-Flowers is a large assortment and many choices. All of them are top-quality goods, too. You won’t find any junk…just good stuff. When you buy one of these as a gift (and one for yourself, too), you aren’t buying the same thing you get in a discount superstore. You’re getting gourmet treats, fine wines, and top-notch goodies.
The Martha Stewart Sweet and Savory Snack tray is a bountiful feast – with nuts and dried fruit and many other goodies. As you are looking at the 1-800-Flowers website, many of the selections have discounts and coupons attached to them, so it’s a really good deal to shop there, and very money-saving s well.
If decadent goodies aren’t your thing, don’t worry. There are plenty of baskets to choose from. Wine, fruit, cooking items, and more await. There’s so much to choose from, and all of it looks so good, that you might want to get more than just one for yourself. Yes, you will be indulging quite a bit if you order more than one, but you’ll enjoy it. It’s the holiday season, after all. Why not treat yourself to a little extra comfort and enjoyment? After all, when you treat others to all of these beautiful to look at, and tasty to eat treats, you should share in the goodness yourself. You deserve it.
Many of the gift baskets spoke to me while I was checking out the 1-800-Flowers site. I loved the Orchard Fresh Fruit & Treats Basket (in a pretty woven pale green and tan basket), the Nueske`s Applewood Hostess Basket (yum!), their Fireside Gourmet (eat in front of a roaring fire?), and especially their Martha Stewart Pear & Apple Gift Basket – in her signature turquoise box.
Besides a wonderful gift basket or two from 1-800-Flowers, what about decorating your house with their gorgeous flower arrangements and centerpieces? I found out a little history regarding the Poinsettias (this site has a huge variety). The poinsettia is a native plant of Mexico and originated in a rather limited region near present day Taxco. Long before the arrival of Europeans, the Aztecs of central Mexico cultivated the plant and called it Cuetlaxochitl.
Because of its brilliant color, the poinsettia was a symbol of purity to the Indians. It was highly prized by both King Netzahualcoyotl and Montezuma, but because of the high altitude climate, the plant could not be grown in their capital, now known as Mexico City. The Indians used poinsettia bracts to make a reddish-purple dye. They also made a medicine for fever from the plant. Today, we just enjoy the infinite variety of these gorgeous Christmas plants. If you look after them and enjoy a mild climate year round, they can be planted outside after the season and enjoyed for many years to come – often growing into substantial bushes.
