Linen: Extra Ordinary Clothing
Linen is very much ideal for summer season & also for colder climate. It remains hot during winters and cold during summers. It is obtained from the stem of flax plant. It is eco friendly in nature and can be washed again & again. It is very comfortable to wear. Knitted linen is elastic in nature while woven linen wrinkles easily. Table linen is usually made up of soft material and is very elegant in design. The length of the table linen generally depends upon the size of the table. There are very less producers of linen.
Stains in the table or bed linen can be treated in the following ways.
a) Red wine- soaks it with cool water and applies detergent.
b) Gravy- soaks with a substance that contains enzymes.
c) Butter- uses stain remover detergent and wash with super heated water.
d) Candle wax- scratches it with knife and then keeps it between towels and presses it.
e) Olive oil- washes with hot water and removes stains using a liquid detergent.
f) Tomato sauce- bleach the linen cloth at a safe normal temperature and then use liquid detergent
g) Lipstick- use normal or cool water and then use a liquid detergent.
Fine table or bed linen can be used for several years. The proper way of storing linen is to store it in a dark and dry place. They are available in different colors and designs. There are also linen storage kits are available in the market.
